The Bierzo de Casar de Burbia winery is the emblem of this small DO, also known as the “Spanish Switzerland” for its climate, topography and soil type. The family spirit of two generations has achieved fruity red wines of the Mencía variety that are also floral and very suitable for aging. They are mainly typified by a mineral silty clay land with a lot of slate.
